Day 12: Church Pot Luck

First thing this morning got up and ate breakfast and snapped a picture of this sparrow on the bird feeder attached to the kitchen window.

Today, being Sunday, my family went to church. We had to drive about 35 minutes away to the town of Princeton, where we first had Morning Sunday School for adults before the main service with Pastor Scott Chesebrough.

Then we had the morning service which was very interesting, and then there was a pot luck dinner (lunch) in the back of the church building. Pot luck is a term for getting many people's different dishes together and everyone having a taste from many cooks in the church. Natsuyo mentioned she had never seen so many slow cookers in one place in her whole life! There were many as that is a popular way to cook up some big dishes. Natsuyo laid out her Macha Pound Cake and many people tried it.

It was a great cultural experience to taste so many people's cooking styles. Mashed potatoes, pasta salads, egg sandwiches, backed macaroni and cheese, sweet meat balls, blueberry cheese cake, cookies, chicken chili with rice, and even potato chips!

It was an interesting time talking with so many people and then it was back home to pack for our next adventure-starting tomorrow!
